The Nigerian president, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has addressed the nation after his long vacation in the United Kingdom and his subsequent return. In his address, the president condemned the divisive actions of some individuals when he was away for his medical treatment and lamented the ugly situation the actions of such individuals which have been threatening the countries unity.
The address which is believed to be referring to hate speeches and different agitations which had been on the air since the president’s departure did not only reveal his disappointment to such Nigerians but also revealed his stands that Nigeria unity must not be negotiated.
The president cited National assembly s the only legitimate body to discuss the national issue, and not otherwise. He, however, revealed the last discussion he had with the former Biafra war lord, Dim. Chukwuemeka Ojukwu over Nigeria Unity, which they both came to a conclusion that Nigeria must remain one, hence; calling on Nigerians to stand for unity and avoid the actions of trouble makers.
